Short Biography

DR. XIANG BING is the Founding Dean and Professor of China Business and Globalization at Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB).

He has served as an independent board member of a number of companies (including two Fortune Global 500 companies) listed in Hong Kong, Mainland China and the United States. He is a member of the International Advisory Council of Fundação Dom Cabral (a leading business school in Brazil), a member of the Advisory Board of Asia House in London and a Counselor for One Young World Summit in Dublin. He also served as a member of the Board of Trustees for United Way Worldwide (US) from 2011-2017.

Dr. Xiang is a leading authority on China business. His research interests include the reform of state-owned enterprises, innovation and the role of the private sector in China. His insight on the innovations in China, globalization of Chinese companies, China’s development models and global implications of China’s transformation, social innovations and global economic disruptions, China-US relations, global trade and investment systems and global governance has been widely acclaimed.

Dr. Xiang has served as keynote speaker at influential forums and conferences around the world including SCMP China Conference: USA (December 10, 2019, New York City), China Social Enterprise and Impact Investment Forum (October 15, 2019, Chengdu), Harvard China Forum (2017, 2018 and 2019, Cambridge), FT Banking Summit (November 30, 2017, London), CKGSB-Brookings US-China Forum (December 14, 2016, New York City), etc. He has been invited to prestigious webinars such as Bo’ao Dialogue (April 29, 2020), and Asian Leadership Conference webinar (May 20, 2020).
